Steve\u2019s practice includes a wide variety of intellectual property areas. He represents and advises developers, distributors, and users of various types of IP related products and services in patent and trademark prosecution, in IP portfolio development and management, and in structuring, negotiating, and documenting licenses, acquisitions, and other commercial transactions. His litigation experience includes patent and trademark infringement actions and inter partes proceedings at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, as well as theft of trade secret cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to founding Lauff Law PLLC, Steve was a partner at Denko Lauff LLP. Previously, Steve was a principal in the Austin office of Fish & Richardson P.C. He started private practice as an associate at Mayor, Day, Caldwell & Keeton LLP, and continued with Andrews Kurth LLP following the merger of those firms. Prior to entering private practice, Steve served as law clerk to the Honorable William C. Bryson, Circuit Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. During law school, he was a part-time law clerk in the legal department of Fisher-Rosemount, an Emerson company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
